ABOUT SIPHOKAZI
As a young girl, I always fantasized about becoming a successful business woman and a homeowner. Growing up without a home and being called an outcast in the only home I was supposed to be loved as a child. It made me aspire to be someone better in the community because trade is something that was introduced to me from a young age of 8yrs by my mother. When other children are playing, I had to go and sell clothes. My mother believed I was the lucky child. Growing up knowing my ability as a lucky child I grew up with that label.Being raised in a world with labels was very difficult for me to the extent that I even struggled to make friends as a child. I had to learn to steal chickens as a child for my survival, doing this with my brother’s friend. I aspired to become a successful business woman. My wish was to dress to impress, travel the world, make life better for me and my family specifically my grandmother who had it so hard.
This was made possible by working my way up. I started with a 5-roomed house which have later grown into multiple award-winning guesthouses. I have grown in the hospitality industry; owning 4 guest houses with a total of 45 rooms, 3 Conference facilities and an events management company in a period of 6 Years. This opened doors for me to travel the world as part of delegations who travel overseas to market South Africa’s tourism and hospitality industry. Some of the countries I travelled to include Spain, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Rwanda. After becoming the 2nd runner up for 2020 Africa Tourism Award, I develop a need to share my skill.I am a recipient of the Sanlam Accomodation Award, Lilizela Award (2017), Small Business Chamber of South Africa Award
